    Created YOUR space, from YOUR template AND added YOURSELF as member ?

    How did you manage that ?

    You should be in space anyway as creator. After you create it.

    If you managed to use graphQL query to add yourself AGAIN after that and hit some strange unplanned path when space creator tries to add himself programmatically to the space as a member and broke the Workspace, then... kudos, my hat goes off to you, sir !

    Hi

    Thanks for the response.

     I repeated creation of template and creation of space from template without any membership update requests.

    The issue persists. Below are two graphql requests. In second request I used template id got from the first request. I am sure this issue can be replicated on your end as well as I have tried from multiple user accounts and browsers. Please let me know if its otherwise.

    1. create template request:

    {
      mutation {
        createSpaceTemplate(input: {
          name: "Template 1"
          description: "A test template."
          requiredApps: {
            apps: [
              {
                id: "af5bd08d-87ac-4370-9f53-85aa70ab775b"
              }
            ]
          }
        }) {
          spaceTemplate {
            id
          }
        }
      }
    }
    .

    2. create space from template request:

    mutation createSpace {
      createSpace(input: { title: "Space created from template",   templateId: "51ac0bb1-6d49-11e8-9234-9b27b4cb6970"}){
        space {
          id
        }
      }
    }

    I tried to reproduce it, mainly cause I was interested in the blur effect and overall it sounds like a good way to play jokes on others, I created template, space out of it, added myself as member with a query like this:

    mutation updateSpaceAddMembers {
    updateSpace(input: { id: "yadayada",
    members: ["yadayada"], memberOperation: ADD}){
    memberIdsChanged
    space {
    title
    membersUpdated
    members {
    items {
    email
    displayName
    }
    }
    }
    }
    }

    And no luck, will try to do your queries.

    Ok I did your queries to create template and space out of it, used the above query to add myself as only member.

    This created a space in my browser and workspace app, that I cannot have a look at, I click on it, nothing happens.

    I can go there directly copying the link, I am in it, I can typoe the text in the box, but cannot send it to space.

    Very interesting, very fun, still trying to get the BLUR effect for practical jokes on co-workers eye sight, but I can definitely see something is wrong here and it is definitely reproducible with your template definition.

    For blur effect, you can click on Settings.

    Btw, it is the template without any properties defined that is causing this, probably.

    I tried to create a new space from that template itself in the browser and desktop app, it seemed like creation of space is failing, because it doesn't indicate anything once I press "Create" button at space creation sequence.

    But what it does instead is - it creates unreachable space on every "Create" click, because it sends graphQL query to create space and tries to join and display the space, which fails, so it stays at the same "create space" sequence screen.

    My left side space menu looks like this now:

    And I am guessing I will have to use explorer to delete them too, cause I can't reach space settings to leave or delete them.

    Edit:
    Yeah, deleteSpace queries work fine, so I am still creator of the spaces and I can delete them, even if workspace frontend is failing.

    Hi Nagaraju, thanks for reporting this issue. We were able to reproduce the unexpected behaviour using the information you provided. It is caused by a template with no spaceStatus and we have an update on the way to handle this case correctly.
