No doubt, the work you do entails you switching from application to application - Watson Workspace being just one of those applications. However, with Watson Workspace you can actually minimize the amount of pivoting between tools because you can add some of your favorite tools and processes directly to Watson Workspace. This way, you've got what you need in one place!
Here's how you add apps to your space.
- Go to your space and click the space name to access Space settings.
- In space settings, click Apps.
- In the first tab, Apps, you will see all the apps available to be added to your space. The second tab, Apps added to this space, will show you just the apps already added to your space. The green checkmark also indicates an app that has been added to your space.
- Choose an app to read the description and click Add to add it to your space.
- Click Configure to set up the app.
Note: You can only add apps in our web or desktop apps but you will see all updates from your integrated apps on your mobile devices.
The apps in the app view are either apps that were developed and submitted via our approval process - these apps show in every space or custom apps that someone in your space created or got directly from the developer via the share app button - these apps only show in the spaces they are added to.
To remove an app from your space simply go to either tab, choose an app that has been added to you space and click Remove.
Tip: Some apps, such as IFTTT and Workato are actually platforms that offer many different services you can use in your space. Visit their websites directly to create applets and then choose the space you want to add the applet to. These apps use your authorization to be added to a space and will show in your list of Connected apps.
Lab apps are integrations that developers in our labs built that are in "preview," which means they are ready to use, but they aren't 100% polished yet, so they may not have the same availability and support as regular apps. They also haven't gone through the rigor of an official app review, including a security review. The goal is to get people using them to gather feedback and gauge interest before they receive the official stamp of approval. These apps sit right alongside the other apps in our apps view - but they are designated with a labs label.
The developers of these apps are anxious for your feedback, so if you add a lab app to your space be sure to tell us what you think either in our Developer forum or email the developers directly (email is in the app description). Happy app'ing!
