Finding what you need, when you need it, is easy in Watson Workspace. You can search for messages and files across all your conversations and go right to them, as well as use typeahead search to quickly jump to a specific space or direct message.
Typeahead search for spaces and direct messages
Using the search typeahead field in the direct messages list you can find a conversation by person name, for those people using Watson Workspace, or by email address. If you can't find the person you are looking for you can invite them to chat directly from the search field.
Similarly, in the spaces list, you can find any space by typing at least two characters of the space name using the search typeahead field. You can even search by emoji character.
Search messages and files
In Watson Workspace you can search for messages or files across all conversations or in a specific conversation. Here’s how:
- Click the Search field or icon in the header.
- Enter your search query.
- Press Enter.
- View the results.
When you search from the header you’ll see results for messages and file names that match your search query and even related terms from across all conversations. Every result will include the date and time the message was posted or file was shared, the space it was shared in or person it was posted to, as well as who authored the message or shared the file. To jump to a search result, just click the result and you'll be taken directly to it.
You can also narrow your search results to the space you're in.
Note: Search for messages and files is only available in the web browser right now but coming soon to our mobile apps. You’ll also be able to narrow your search query by person or space with modifiers and filter results by messages and files. Stay tuned.
